Making practical pretty since 2012, our story.

Where it all began.

Ruby and Freddie were my Grandparents and the inspiration behind the brand’s name.  It may have all begun with a nappy cake for my best friend’s baby shower (a cliche but true) but the drive and determination most certainly comes from Ruby and Freddie.   In January 2012 Ruby and Freddie’s was launched by me, Amanda, at home whilst bringing up our two small children.  I soon went on to design, manufacture and print a small baby wear range - Little Londoners - our signature range featuring 3 cockney rhyming slang designs. In January 2022 we celebrated our 10th birthday and what better way to celebrate than to reimagine our very first designs into beautiful all over print and launch for the first time our own organic cotton babywear collection. We are a small independent company who have worked hard to create a sustainable brand whilst keeping our family values at the heart of our business. Named after my lovely Grandparents, cockney slang designs chosen with the help of Nanny Edna (My husband’s Nan and the Grand-daughter of a Pearly King) and all with the help and support of my parents, husband and kiddies, You can’t get more family than that!

Made in Britain.

All of our baby clothing is either Made in Britain or in Europe, which is something we are very proud of.  Where possible we use other small businesses to make items for us such as our cards, candles and notebooks. Our brand is truly special from the moment an idea is born to the time you receive your order. Our gifts have been thoroughly thought out with a Mum's eye view where practicality and beauty blend perfectly!
